My main intent with this series is to present both a critique and a celebration of modern womanhood. Employing various media, I aim to examine the beauty, terror, pain and pleasures of the “gentler sex”. Motherhood vs. martyrdom; self-mutilation vs. self-preservation; empowerment vs. vulgarity; fertility vs. futility; art vs. craft.  What does being a woman really mean, and what can society as a whole glean from the contradictions and parallels presented by today's views of femininity?
